Charities We Partner With
Here at Love & A Hug, we are passionate about supporting charities that are working towards finding ways to break down stigma and that are providing support and resources for people experiencing difficult times. That’s why we have partnered with a number of charitable organizations who will receive a percentage of every sale of one of our gift boxes.
We also understand just how important conversation and community can be during difficult times. Our partner charities will also provide each recipient of one of our boxes with a list of useful resources that they can access for further support and assistance – because we know that sending love and a hug doesn’t stop once the package has been unwrapped.
Our charity partners will also provide regular updates here on the initiatives that your donations are assisting to support. You can read more about the impact that your gift is making here soon.
Our current charity partners include The Pink Elephant’s Network and Endometriosis Australia. Our additional charity partners will be announced here soon.
Pink Elephants started with a coffee when Sam reached out to a friend for support after experiencing her second loss and feeling isolated. During that first coffee, an unmet need was discussed around the support for women experiencing miscarriage and early pregnancy loss. From the initial diagnosis to the ensuing loss/procedure and knowing what to expect, right down to the support that partners, family, friends and even healthcare professionals can give – women deserved more. Information needed to be offered. Conversations needed to take place. Validation needed to be given. Connections needed to be made.
Pink Elephants provides the latest resources, information and peer-support for anyone impacted by early pregnancy loss. Using evidence, empathy and connection, our unique digital-first approach offers a single source of specialist support, whenever and wherever it’s needed — for anyone who has directly experienced it, for family and friends, corporate partners or healthcare professionals seeking proven ways to help.
With so much of the current experience of miscarriage based on old science, outdated perceptions, social anxiety and mistruths, Pink Elephants aims to right the story of
early pregnancy loss by smashing the stigma, creating a new narrative, and leading to a healthier experience for all.
Founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2016, Pink Elephants is a registered not-for-profit. Find out more here The Pink Elephants Support Network
Endometriosis is a disease that is estimated to affect 1 in 10 women globally, which is approximately 176 million women. Despite these staggering statistics it remains a condition that is misunderstood and methods of diagnosis are severely lacking. This means that a women will typically suffer from symptoms associated with the disease for years before diagnosis occurs.
There are many symptoms of endometriosis. Not everyone with endometriosis will experience all or even any of these symptoms but for those who do, the symptoms can be severe and can impact all aspects of life including work.
